MSF Supply Selects Aldata for Item Management and Traceability of its Humanitarian Aid

Published 5th August 2008

London, 31st July 2008, MSF Supply, a humanitarian relief supplies centre created by Médecins Sans Frontières Belgium, has announced that it is deploying G.O.L.D. Stock from Aldata, one of the global leaders in supply chain software for retail, wholesale and logistics companies, to manage the delivery of its emergency supplies throughout the world and to improve the traceability of its operations in line with European healthcare traceability legislation.

MSF Supply will use Aldata G.O.L.D. Stock to run the logistics of its relief supplies centre in Merchtem, Belgium.
G.O.L.D Stock will be used to enable easier distribution of more than 19,000 items, including emergency kits, medicines, medical-surgical material, vehicles, food and shelter material, as part of its daily missions. The solution will allow the centre to react immediately to emergency situations and ensure items are delivered as quickly and effectively as possible, wherever they are needed in the world.

Pierre-Paul Lamotte, Logistics & Operations Director for MSF Supply, said, “In response to the European healthcare legislation, MSF Supply is required to demonstrate traceability capability throughout its operations.
G.O.L.D Stock will enable our humanitarian centre to respond to the exacting legislative requirements we face.”

“This agreement builds upon our growing work with healthcare organizations to enhance traceability and shows that groups such as Médecins Sans Frontières Belgium increasingly turn to Aldata to help them manage their logistics in the most efficient, cost-effective and transparent way possible,” said Allan Davies, CMO of Aldata Solution.

The project will start immediately.
